Preparing for your travel to DMAC
 
Congratulations and welcome to Digital Media Arts College!

Please read this information carefully. It will be helpful to you and will make your journey go more smoothly. This section assumes you have already applied for admission and have been accepted to Digital Media Arts College. If you have not yet applied for admission, please see Application Information for International Students section for procedures and forms.
 
Before you leave your country:
 
Go to the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate in your home country to apply for an F-1 VISA (after you are issued an I-20 from DMAC)

Take these items to the U.S. Embassy:

  • DMAC I-20

  • Valid passport (Canadian Citizens are exempt from visa requirements, but must present a valid passport, I-20 and financial documents at the port-of-entry)

  • Original financial documents

  • Relevant documents to prove you will return to your home country

  • Make housing arrangements, if possible, or arrange an appointment with the DMAC housing coordinator

  • Present my passport, visa, I-20 or IAP-66, original financials documents to the U.S. Immigration inspector when you enter the U.S.
Before you leave your current institution (transfer students):
 
  • Inform the international student advisor at your last school that you plan to transfer to DMAC

  • Organize ALL your I-20's from your former U.S. schools

  • In addition to the transcript given to DMAC admissions, obtain another final official transcript from the last school you attend for the International Student Affairs and Services Office at DMAC

  • NOTE: Failure to complete the process in a timely manner will require Reinstatement, which is costly and time consuming. Please prepare I-20's and transcripts for ISAS in a timely manner

  • Make housing arrangements, if possible, or arrange an appointment with the DMAC housing coordinator
Upon your arrival in Boca Raton, FL:
 
  • Check into the ISAS office upon your arrival. Please bring with you your passport, I-20 and I-94 card.

  • Update your current address information with the college.

  • Apply for a Social Security card

  • Have your I-20 endorsed at ISAS and obtain a statement of full-time attendance at DMAC

  • Go the Social Security office located at:

    DELRAY SQUARE II
    14548 S MILITARY TRAIL
    DELRAY BEACH , FL 33484

    Hours of operation: 8:30AM to 3:30PM, Monday - Friday.

  • Apply for a bank account; bring with you your passport, I-20, I-94 card, DMAC ID, if possible your Social Security card. There are several banks adjacent to the college property for your convenience.
