Digital Media Arts College has a no-barrier admissions policy for all undergraduate programs.* Applications are reviewed on a “rolling” basis. DMAC applicants are reviewed by qualified academic leaders and industry professionals in the field of study for which the student applies. Prior experience with computer art and design is not required for admission, students are encouraged to apply based on their desire to excel. Applicants for the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree will be reviewed on an individual basis with regard to his/her knowledge, achievement, and potential for creative enhancement.
High School Transcript: Digital Media Arts College requires all students in degree seeking programs to have a high school degree or an equivalency. Digital Media Arts College accepts the following as proof of high school graduation:

Entrance Testing: Digital Media Arts College requires all incoming freshmen students to take the Accuplacer Online Writeplacer examination to ensure that each student has an ability to benefit from the College’s undergraduate programs. The Writeplacer test will be administered at Digital Media Arts College during the initial two weeks of each semester. The Writeplacer examination has been designed to determine incoming students’ ability with the written English language at the collegiate level. Based on their scores, students are placed either in Developmental English or Freshman Composition courses. Cutoff scores on the Writeplacer exam are:
Developmental English: less than 5
Freshman Composition: 5 or above
International Students
Applicants whose native language is not English are required to provide proof of English language proficiency as defined in the catalog of the college. International students must furnish evidence of proficiency in English by submitting scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam. The minimum required TOEFL score for students in different categories is as follows:

Digital Media Arts College TOEFL code number is 8427. This number should be used when a student sits for the examination and on the Score Report Request Forms (for previously-taken tests). As an alternative, Digital Media Arts College has approved both the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) as a demonstration of English Language proficiency with the minimum score requirements:

Credit for Prior College Coursework:
Transfer applicants with less than 60 semester hours of transferable academic credit are required to send official secondary school records to Digital Media Arts College. The maximum number of credits that can be transferred to any of the Digital Media Arts College BFA programs is 87. The minimum number of credits that must be taken at Digital Media Arts College is 40. Transfer of credit may shorten the length of the program at Digital Media Arts College and may decrease total program cost. Digital Media Arts College will evaluate and consider awarding proper academic credit for credits earned at institutions accredited by agencies recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Provisional Acceptance:
If a complete transcript is not available at the time of application, the student may be accepted on a provisional basis. Provisional admission allows a student to enter based on merits deemed acceptable by the DMAC Admissions Committee. The merits that will be considered can be, but are not limited to, artistic ability or work experience and the result of a personal interview. However, the student must provide official high school transcripts within two (2) semesters of initial attendance at the college to achieve acceptance in good standing. This provisional acceptance and criteria to achieve acceptance in good standing will be clearly articulated in a formal letter of provisional acceptance that will be mailed to the “provisionally accepted” student. Students who do not provide official transcripts to Digital Media Arts College by the end of their second semester of study will be placed on hold and will not be able to register for any further classes until transcripts are received by the College.
